Check the wish list for specific kinds of volunteers that are presently being sought. Several different kinds of volunteers can be helpful to Earth Mother Enterprises.
The first kind of volunteer is an interested party. Everyone who checks out these web pages, listens to a presentation about EME, gives feedback, asks questions, makes suggestions, or otherwise interacts in an interested and caring way has volunteered something very valuable. That person has become part of an unfolding, creative process. I believe dozens of people have contributed in this way.
The second kind of volunteer is another nonprofit agency that is helping to form EME. Three Rivers FreeNet, The Executive Service Corps, and The Foundation Center are three Pittsburgh mainstays that have made EME possible. Other nonprofits have expressed an interest and made promises. Time will tell to what degree those early potentialities come to fruition.
The third kind of volunteer is an angel with resources to share: money, expertise, equipment, and similar goodies.
The fourth kind of volunteer is a board member. Such a volunteer may have a special area of expertise, helpful contacts, or a wealth of energy. Each board member must have a strong sense of alliance with the complex of values that make up the mission of EME.
The fifth kind of volunteer is a project coordinator, someone with an interest in one of the projects of EME, or a similar project of their own design, who desires to work under the umbrella of EME, rather than start their own organization to pursue their goals.
The sixth kind of volunteer is a staff member, someone who wishes to give of their time to assist with any of the activities that are underway. Needed are: transportation, clerical work, research, writing, networking, web page development, and the myriad of other tasks connected to making a nonprofit form, maintain itself, and develop.
